maternity

Long time since I last did a blog entry. Our life has seen a lot of ups & downs these past few months, but mostly downs. While I find myself loving watching my baby girl grow up every day, we're also in the throws of grieving the passing of my husband's mom. I find I'm not able to do much, but what I am able to do is take pictures. Taking pictures seems to give me a bit of an escape & while my work is pretty beginner level, it's still enjoyable for me to capture beauty in this small way.

With that being said, it's good Carine & I finally got around to getting her maternity photos done when we did, because her little Benedict (my Godson!) came 3.5 weeks early!! He's such a blessing & a strong little fighter! I can't wait to get over this darn cold though so I can hold him!

So, welcome to the world Benedict! Here is your beautiful mama looking as amazing as ever. And your dad joined in on the fun too. :) Thank you Carine & Jared for letting me take these photos, I'm grateful for your time & patience.

Admittedly, I was nervous for this shoot. I've never done a shoot like this where it's a group of friends just hanging out. I'm used to taking shots of nature or just one solitary person. I was up to the challenge though & I ended up having a lot of fun. Olivia didn't totally love being in her carrier the whole time, but she survived. And in case you're wondering if it's possible to carry a baby in their carrier, nurse & take photos at the same time, it is. It is possible.

Kay Clarity

This is my friend Kathleen. (aka Kay Clarity)

We were blessed this past Sunday evening, with the most magical light, perfect shades of green & time to get out & snap of a few shots. It was really fun to get these shots & working with Kathleen was really quite the delight! She photographs beautifully & she's very patient with me!! getting creative

I've been dreaming up ways to be more creative & I need your help. I LOVE to be creative in many ways, but I especially love photography. If you've known me for awhile, then you know how often I used to take photos... not with an iPhone, but with an actual DSLR.

I used to hop in my car & drive around for hours finding places that were forgotten or where I could be completely alone just taking shots & practicing. I love a good challenge!

So, here's the scoop...

I want to GIFT you with a little photoshoot! Yay!

We will go out or stay in, snap some shots & have fun being creative. Could be just you, small family shots, your business shots, home/staging shots, couple/engagement, artistic/creative, beauty shots, maternity, birthing, newborn... anything really. (No boudoir or weddings shoots though, sorry).

The catch?

- You cannot crop or edit my photos.

- I will be posting my favourite shots on social media. (obviously with discretion... I likely won't post your birthing or newborn shots though for obvious reasons).

- If we do some driving to locations, some gas money will be required.

- You have to be ok with my baby tagging along with us... and maybe even some baby snuggles too.

PLEASE READ:

This is is NO WAY meant to be a start up photography business for myself. This is simply a way for me to be more creative & to do something nice. So don't ruin it. I by no means am calling myself a photographer. If you are wanting PROFESSIONAL photos done, please hire a REAL photogpraher who does this for their work/career. Trust me, they are worth it. If you're looking for a photographer, just ask & I can refer you to some amazing photographers! I don't want to take away from their REAL work & talent. I simply want to do something fun & creative for me but to also give back to you in thanks, for helping me achieve this.

I will be starting this once a month & go from there...
